Her work centers on applying Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) to improve educational outcomes and expand equitable access to learning across Africa.
At the African Institute for AI, she has contributed to research, exploring AI-driven solutions for education, and served as a peer reviewer for the Recent Advances in Deep Learning publication. She is also a member of the inaugural STEM for Development Global Scholars Program and the Black in AI Emerging Leaders in AI (2025 cohort).
Ibukun seeks to advance research at the intersection of AI and education, with the long-term goal of developing intelligent systems that strengthen learning outcomes and support sustainable development across Nigeria and Africa.
