For the first time, the Michael Taiwo Scholarships Community met in person on May 18, 2024 — marking our first physical gathering since the program’s inception in 2019.

What began as a virtual network of dreamers and achievers finally came alive in a vibrant, face-to-face celebration of shared purpose, mentorship, and community. The gathering in Lagos was charged with enthusiasm as scholars, alumni, and volunteers reflected on the program’s growth and discussed innovative ways to advance the MT vision.

It was a moment filled with joy and excitement as our Founder & CEO, Dr. Michael Taiwo, traveled all the way from the United States to connect with our amazing and brilliant MT Scholars who gathered in Lagos State, Nigeria. His presence and personal engagement made the event even more special, reminding everyone of the passion and purpose that birthed the scholarship five years ago.

Adding to the excitement, every attending scholar received free copies of Dr. Taiwo’s books. The No Gree Series is a collection of reflections on how to overcome inner doubts, fears, failure, rejection, impostor syndrome, and crises. The second book, Dream: A Reminder to Graduates and Anyone Beginning Anew, is an inspirational guide written for those navigating life transitions. The book speaks to the fears and doubts that often accompany change, encouraging readers to face challenges, embrace uncertainty, and transform their dreams into reality.

The day closed on a high note with heartfelt conversations, photo sessions, and renewed commitments to the shared mission of transforming lives through education and opportunity.

More than just a meetup, this gathering marked a new chapter in the MT journey — one that celebrates the power of community, mentorship, and the courage to dream beyond limits.
