Everything You Should Know About the 2025 Michael Taiwo Scholarships

For thousands of brilliant students, the dream of pursuing graduate studies abroad often feels out of reach, weighed down by the steep costs of applications, the burden of standardized test fees (GRE/GMAT and TOEFL/IELTS), and the uncertainty of navigating the process alone. The Michael Taiwo Scholarships Inc. (MT Scholarships) exists to change that story, breaking down financial and structural barriers so talented students can compete on a global stage. In 2025, the program pressed forward with its mission of empowering bright, under-resourced students to access global opportunities.

Out of 9,056 applicants, only 66 made it through; an acceptance rate of less than 1%. These 66 students, who demonstrated not only academic excellence but also resilience, grit, and the potential to thrive in graduate studies abroad, were selected as the 2025 MT Scholars.

Support Package for 2025 Winners 

Winners of the 2025 MT Scholarships are awarded a comprehensive support package designed to ease their graduate school journey. These include:

• 1. Graduate School Application Fees: Coverage for up to 6 schools.
• 2. Standardized Test Sponsorship: Fully funded GRE/GMAT and TOEFL/IELTS.
• 3. Score Report Fees: Up to 4 additional score reports covered.
• 4. Transcript Evaluation: Via World Education Services (WES).
• 5. One-on-One Mentorship: Personalized coaching from professors, PhDs, past MT Scholars, and industry leaders.
• 6. Global Network: Access to the growing community of MT Scholars across the world.
• 7. Ongoing Support: Webinars and career advice to prepare them for graduate school success.

Why It Matters

The MT Scholarships is more than just funding, it is a movement shaping global leaders. Since its inception in 2019, the program has:

• 1. Grown from 7 scholars in 2019 to almost 300 in 2025.
• 2. Reviewed over 40,000 applications to date.
• 3. Supported students now pursuing graduate degrees in the USA, Canada, France, the UK, and beyond.
• 4. Indirectly leveraged over $20 million in external scholarships secured by awardees.
